Bloom Into Frost full release!


Well, it's been a while since the demo was released - but Bloom Into Frost is now fully complete, going right to the end of our protagonist's visit to Godigsfel and their discovery of their family's secrets.

Bloom Into Frost stands as my longest current work at slightly over 22000 words. Early concepts even included small, almost adventure game-like sections, where the player would have to select things in the enviroment before they could continue. The basic outline and personalities of the characters didn't change much throughout the concepts of the story, though Fennel originally had a larger role that was chopped in favour of focusing on the relationship of the main two. Sorry, Fennel - better luck with the next one.

The initial ideas of the tellarn people (including their north-south horn orientation) and the pairing of the two protagonists are actually much older than Bloom Into Frost. They have their genesis in a sketch of characters in a higher-fantasy time period of the setting. Perhaps some day that more fantastical time will be revealed.

I would like to thank all the people I worked with - Koda, cephalopadre, and Kitet for their art, which really brought the setting and characters to life based on my rather more primitive concept art. Bonus points go to Koda, for the fantastic UI and main menu.  A side mention of thanks goes to Luna, who assisted with sound editing.

Most of all, Parsely, who was fundamental through the whole thing - both in vital encouragement that helped me get it written and putting it all together afterwards. This game wouldn't exist without them.
